About the role

We are seeking a Project Co-ordinator to join our Project Delivery team, working a 9 day fortnight roster (in accordance with current QAL practices).  This role will report to the Superintendent Engineering & Project Delivery.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Attend stakeholder and contractor meetings and assist with determination of project requirements

  • Drafting and issuance of project lifecycle documentation, request for approvals (RFA’s), tenders, budgets, cash flows and preliminary schedules

  • Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines/trades

  • Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures

  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the stakeholder and project team

  • Ensure stakeholder needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner

  • Review Manufacturers Data Reports (MDR’s) from contractors throughout the lifecycle of the project

  • Review of contractor quotations to ensure that only fair and reasonable pricing is recommended for approval

  • Track and manage contemplated change notices and change orders in the database

  • Prepare and ensure all required project close out documents are obtained

  • Implement KPI’s, task quality and commercial contract deployment to monitor and drive performance improvement

  • The ability to safely work as an individual and within a team environment

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience in project coordination

  • Project management in heavy industry engineering is preferred

  • Formal qualifications in either engineering or project management is highly desirable

  • Planning and scheduling of maintenance requiring multi-disciplined work groups

  • Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills

  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment

  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities

  • Commitment to safety, environment, continuous improvement and business targets
